The UK is about 6% of the EU market.
The EU is about 40% of the uk market.

Who really needs who in this scenario?

『Voting leave doesn't make you racist』It does, because the leave campaign hammered immigration knowing they could win on it, and they were right. Don’t apologise for them.

Trade deals we have now will have to be renegotiated from scratch, which any EU member can veto. Businesses will leave the UK, London in particular, and move to places in the EU like Frankfurt. Many jobs will be at risk which rely on EU trade, and the free movement of labour. There will be less cooperation in policing and Europol. Less foreign investment in the UK.

In business, major decisions often require at least 75% or 80% of the votes - and sometimes a unanimous vote - to pass. Sometimes you need a quorum. That 51–52% of people who turned out to vote could make such a significant decision for a nation is appalling. Many of my friends in the UK voted Remain. I feel sad. They are disappointed and so am I.

I already really fed-up of listening to the victorious Brexit bigots on TV news crowing & still droning on about Immigration whilst they sit there smiling their stupid, fat faces off… & it’s only been 13 1/2 hours since I heard the result…! As for the Brexiteers who go on about the National Health service & how we’ll now be able to spend more money on it… Have you looked at the financial pages!? The money is probably gone by now!

My worthless opinion is that this is a disaster of Trumpian proportions created primarily by uneducated older people who long for the good ole days of smokestacks when there were fewer wogs and darkies. The vote to leave England only shows that Trump can be, and possibly will be elected here in the US as stupidity sweeps the globe.

Britain is in a big club of countries, where everyone who lives in any of the countries can live or work in any of the other countries. The adults of Britain have voted to leave that club by a very small margin. As it was you could have worked in any of the 28 countries when you grow up. You could have worked in Germany, France, Spain, Sweden or Finland, just because you wanted to. But now you can’t. You will only be able to live and work in Britain, unless you have some special skills they really need elsewhere. Some old people decided to take all those opportunities from you because they don’t like foreigners. That’s pretty much how I explained it to my 12 year-old.

There is an anti-globalization wave that has started to blow in the past couple of years across the world. The Brexit is just one sample of that. Whether it is the rise of the Trump in the US, the hardening of China’s stance in Asia or even the ISIS, the trend is clear - screw the world, we need to “protect” “our” “way of life”. Islamaphobia is just one part of this.

In general, older people would be more likely to vote to protect their way of life [from those foreigners] as the old are more vulnerable to change/can’t change easily - leading them to choose political choices that will keep the change to a minimum. The Leave campaign successfully convinced this demographic that leaving the EU will help keep their existing way of life [keep out those Moslem people that Trump so much rails against].

The EU will give the worst trade deal for the UK that is politically possible, in order to dissuade other member states from leaving.

I am bewildered, ashamed and — for the first time in my life — scared for the future of my country.

Heart-broken. Bewildered. Embarrassed for this country.

Companies will move workforces to Germany and especially Dublin (and Scotland if they vote to remain.) You know what's really easy to move? Financial jobs. You know what drives London? The financial sector. The U.S. President will now call Germany for special status, not Britain. Scotland will reinitiate the referendum to leave, and it will pass.

If one more British person tells me how “messed up” American politics are, I might just punch them in the face. The vote to leave is the same mentality that is propelling Donald Trump. Same words, same lack of understanding about world economics and a sense of delusional, inflated self- greatness. For some reason, people don’t seem to get that. (This is also what Latin America did in the middle of the 20th century which led to disaster all -around.)
