Q: Why does society saying skinny is beautiful?
It seems like I always see girls talking about how they think they are fat and they need to lose weight... And to me these girls look perfect. It seems society has corrupted women into thinking bing skinny is beautiful. My sisters like watching top model and I am appalled that people actually think these women's bodies are beautiful. They look emaciated and alien-looking. I personally think that curvier women are ideal. No, not fat, but thick. (I would post links but I don't have enough xp.) I wanted to here your guys opinions on this subject. Please do not become offended if you are skinny. I have nothing against you... It is just my opinion

By focusing on "skinny" as the hard-to-attain standard of beauty, it makes an industry out of those who can "help" you to be beautiful. That's big business. Whereas if curvy was beautiful, anyone near a McDonalds could be beautiful.
The same sort of thing could be found in primitive cultures where food was scarce. Curvy was rare, therefore curvy was beautiful.
Ultimately, it's a money thing. There's more money to be made by telling women it's hard to be beautiful and that they need help, and they have to pay money to get that help.
